Pumpkin Activities For Our Residents

With Fall upon us and Halloween right around the corner, AutumnGrove’s cottage managers have been coming up with some creative ideas for fun activities for the residents. At AutumnGrove, we encourage our residents to be as independent as possible, so we create activities to help them succeed at everyday skills. Our caregivers and managers love when the residents want to lend a hand around the kitchen! Our Woodlands Cottage manager, Julie, came up with the idea of making pumpkin shaped rice krispie treats with help from the residents. They assisted her by helping place the chocolate candy stems on top of the orange colored rice krispie to complete the perfect pumpkin look. Of course the residents and staff had a tasty fall treat once the pumpkins were completed.

The Heights Cottage decided to take a different spin on decorating pumpkins with the residents. Christina, the cottage manager, picked up some fun and festive felt face pieces for the residents to glue onto pumpkins and make silly faces. Between crazy eyes, big lips and brightly colored hair, The Heights Cottage pumpkins are sure a sight to see. The residents loved picking out the different face pieces for their pumpkins and putting together their crazy creations! Word on the street is that they have the best decorated pumpkins in the neighborhood. Check out these amazing pumpkins!
