The Copperfield Cottage was the very first cottage built by AutumnGrove. Settled on the northwest side of the greater Houston area, the Copperfield Cottage has been serving the Alzheimer’s community for over eight years. Upon opening it’s doors all those years ago, it was apparent that AutumnGrove and the Copperfield Cottage would change the way in caring for Alzheimer’s seniors.
This cottage shows heart, soul, compassion and dedication to the residents and families that are part of the Copperfield family. With a staff who strives to give nothing but the best, the residents are cared for in the highest manner that meets all AutumnGrove standards. This cottage is also known for the lush gardens, fun activities, and a manager who loves each resident with her whole heart. The cottage gardens have a beauty and peace that all of the residents enjoy and you can often catch them walking through them taking in all their glory. The manager, Kristen, is known as the activity queen throughout the company. She takes extra pride in coming up with fun activities for her residents. Everything from a balloon toss, to United States map puzzles and even putting together a luau every summer, Kristen never lacks for a creative idea.
The caregivers are just as fun and creative as Kristen. They normally put together a cottage dance once a week and play classic big band music for the residents to boogie to. Dancing is not the caregivers’ only talent. They take pride in providing quality family-like care for reach resident in the Copperfield Cottage. Not a day goes by that they don’t build lasting relationships with the residents and their families.
The Copperfield Cottage was just the beginning of AutumnGrove and the care we wanted to provide for families who battle with Alzheimer’s. This cottage led the way for all of the other cottages in honoring our residents and those who love and care for them.
