On Saturday, AutumnGrove Cottage managers, caregivers and family participated in the 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Houston at Minute Maid Park. This Houston walk is ranked one of the top 30 Alzheimer’s Walks in the nation. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s events were started to help spread awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and to help raise funds for medical research and to help family support groups. These walks take place all over the U.S. starting in September and go through November, from small towns to big cities, people join together to fight this terrible disease.

This year’s Houston walk had over 3,000 people walk and raised $445,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association!! What an amazing accomplishment for the city of Houston. Our hope is that these walks will help inform people of how awful this disease can be for everyone involved and that they will be encouraged to join in on the fight. AutumnGrove Cottage had a great time honoring our residents, past and present, and everyone who battles Alzheimer’s. Take a look at the pictures below!
